House of Hope 1
                                                                         When school is not in session House of Hope starts to arranges activities from 09.00 - 3.00 pm.
We arrange  the children into 3 groups.
     - First group are primary 1 - 3
     - Second group are primary 4 - 5
     - Third group are primary 6 - secondary 3.
 In the morning they take extra tutorial classes such as, Thai, English, Math, and in the afternoon we have fun activities such as, small activities, learn how to used internet, cooking classes, and how to make paper mache dolls made from tissue paper. Also we have outdoor activities such as, walking in the village, learn how to use a map, camping, and riding.

House of Hope 2 activities when school is on vacation:  Activities are from  9.00am to 14.00 pm. They have many activities such as, learning First aid, learn about the benefits of good food and vegetables and how to cook easy Thai food such as omelet and fried vegetables at home. Reading activities, to practice reading Thai. This month the children went on a field trip and visited a cave, waterfall, and hot springs.

House of Hope 3 at MaekatNoi school


Before House of Hope 3 started the buildings needed to be repaired and prepared.  Activities started in the middle of May at the beginning of the school term.  In the first days children who were interested to come to House of Hope came to see what it did. The first day 45 children participated in activities and the next day another 85 children. We will start with  30 - 40 children each day from a pool of 85 or more. Some children from  House of Hope 1 will come to tell their experiences for the whole group at HOH 3.

Hygiene project
This month activities in the villager was held by 10 volunteers from the villagers. They recive training from the projects head nurse and nurse assistant to take back to the other villagers. They recieve information about  AIDS and sexual are related illness, womb, mouth and breast cancer. They also learn to teach and demonstrate one can check oneself  for breast cancer.

Handicrafts
In May the womens group picks lichees which they can sell for about 18 Baht per kg. At the end of May when the lichee season is finished they continue to work on the new order from Japan for 220 pillow cases, they are very happy! In BanPangMakamporm the womens group have started to learn how to weave scarves. 
Lahu Organization Development
The Lahu Organization Development Project has been helping the villagers to prepare documents to obtain Thai citizenship and Thai ID cards.  The staff of Lahu organization demostrates how to prepare the documents for fileing of complaints at the Mea-ai district office . Many of the villagers ask for help from Lahu organization. The Lahu Organization staff also meet in the various villages.  They also met with with soliders to discuss amphetamine and has attended a session in Bangkokt against torture . Lahu Organization Development also has elect new board member so now they have  11 board members.
